WATERS  OF  NOAH

(3) GLOBAL FLOOD

Looking further, we realize that the entire process of removing the waters from the earth continued for about a year.

"And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen." (Genesis 8:4,5)

That brings us to 224 days or about seven and a half months before the TOPS of the mountains appear, and even then, it was still pretty wet around the world.

"And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried." (Genesis 8:13,14)

The first date indicates the completion of the removal of the water from OFF the earth, and the second date indicates the drying out of the water-logged dirt.

The entire flood "event" lasted from Noah's Year 600, Month 2, Day 17; until Year 601, Month 2, Day 27; which figures out as 370 days or as one year and 10 days. (Approx.2348-2347 B.C.)

That pretty much answers the original two questions, and some more besides, and surely there are many more questions that could be raised in this scientific analysis of the flood, such as how would the added MASS of that much water effect the length of the year, the earth's orbit, the length of the day, and the earth's tilt, etc.

It seems obvious from the account that the year back then was 360 days, and that since then, the year has lengthened by about 5 days or so. How would the additional load of water effect the rotation of the earth and length of day?

And of course the atmosphere was pushed up along with Noah, so certainly the atmosphere was seriously effected, due to a given volume of air being spread out around a larger sea-level diameter, and what about higher gravity from increased mass? (Lifespans after this were about HALF what they were before.)

Various people from time to time have given reports of having seen the ark still in the mountains of Armenia, and various books and eye witness claims indicate that it is still there, mostly intact. It is VERY reasonable that the ark would still be there, when you consider how strong it was built (to be able to withstand the deluge) and perhaps it has been "kept on ice" through the years, awaiting the day of the LORD, when many hidden things will come to light.

("For there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed." :)

As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also...
