From a "Questioning User" (QU4) followup to (4) Global Flood--

>>RC> All the observable data that I have seen in my geological studies in various parts of the world indicates without a doubt that there was a global flood and that data agrees with the Genesis account.

>QU4> I know that there is evidence that, say, Pike's peak consists of material which was once under water. But the evidence is very high that it was not within the last 10,000 years.

By our present calendar, it would have been covered in 4004 BC, and AGAIN in the flood of Noah's day, about 2349-2348 BC. (Less than 5000 years ago.)

>QU4> If the flood killed all life on the world except for that which was within the arc (including fish & plants, if you want to believe the Bible or science), then it was by miracle.

"And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the -breath- of life, from under heaven;" (Gen.6:17p) Fish & plants are [generally] not air-breathing creatures.

Sufficient numbers of fish could have easily survived, and obviously did! Some plants would have been destroyed by rushing waters, but gradually rising waters in other areas would have just put the plants/trees/etc., underwater for a few months.

Figuring November 7th (Gen.7:11) for the beginning of the flood, the waters were abated by about April 8th (spring), and by about August 5th, the dove returned with an olive leaf (Gen.8:11) from a tree.

>QU4> Of course, I believe that Noah's world was alot smaller than the complete globe.

True, if you consider that the single land mass then was not yet divided into continents and spread around the globe until Gen.10-11. The surface of the globe is still mostly water. (It's a small world.)

Remember that Jesus is the LORD and he is coming soon. (Look up!)

As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also...
