From a "Curious Questioner" (CQ) followup to "The Earth Divided"--
>CQ> Subject: Biblical Tectonics
>CQ> Please... where, where does the Bible mention Plate Tectonics?
(Sounds like an "itching ears" sort of question. :)
"Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down."
"And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan." (Gen.10:25)
Since Peleg was the FIFTEENTH from Adam; and Nimrod, founder of Babel was the THIRTEENTH from Adam, the chronological order is:
The word "palag" means DIVIDED. "Peleg" means Earth-quake/split/rift. This does NOT mean that the continents were SUDDENLY moved to their present day positions, but that RIFT VALLEYS opened up, filling with water, after the earth was cracked apart. From the time of Peleg to the time that Columbus "sailed the blue", there only needed to be movement at a speed of about 1/100th of a snail's top speed, for the continents to reach today's locations.
There is still some residual movement today. The mistake that the geologists make is in assuming that the PRESENT rate of VERY SLOW movement was ALWAYS the rate, so their dating methods are FALSE. (Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. Be not deceived. :)
Remember that Jesus is the LORD and receive the love of the truth.
