This board is single sided FR-4. It is of surprising good quality for this low price.

It is a light green color with white overlay on the top marking where components go. On the bottom are the solder masked tinned copper traces and pads in the prototype area. Holes are pre-drilled in various sizes to accommodate the various parts. All components usually go on top and are soldered on the bottom. It supports AT90S8535, ATMega-16, and ATMega-32 processors and has special circuitry for quiet and reliable ADC operation using separate regulators and grounds. Also supported are two different mounting styles for LCD Displays with placement for a contrast control.

The I/O Bits connector posts go on the bottom of the board to allow wire wrapping to the prototype area. If it's preferred to solder wires direct, it may be left empty.

This is the PCB to use for industry. It is much more durable and easier to assemble. FR4 is green and the copper traces and pads are tin-plated for ease of soldering (or wave soldering). Of course, the parts layout is still overlaid on top, where the components go. The holes are pre-drilled and plated through, connecting to top pad to the bottom. A solder mask covers the inter-pad traces to prevent solder splash shorts between traces and underneath chips. The board is physically tougher.

This parts kit contains all the parts (except the LCD) needed to build one AVRProject. The chips, diodes, resistors, capacitors, connectors, and ribbon cable are all there. Also included is a 2313HQ Double-sided PCB. Beginner level soldering skills are required to complete this kit. When it's done, purchase a power pack with a 2.1mm plug (positive center), download the compiler software, and you're ready to begin programming. The AVR Processor chip will have diagnostics pre-loaded. As of 1 Jan 2004 - NO LCD is included in the parts kit. Due to numerous requests, the LCD has been replaced with a 2313HQ PCB for the same price. Below picture shows 5 kits before packing.
