John Bedding

Born London 1947

John Bedding began his career at seventeen. He worked in a variety of potteries until 1969 when he joined the Leach pottery, and working there as a student apprentice was greatly influenced by the philosophy and craft of Bernard Leach. He spent 1971 with Jean Tesser at his atelier in Villenaux, France and in 1979 he was invited to work at the Ichino family pottery in Tamba, Japan. His pots are made with Raku techniques. He exhibits widely in England and abroad and his work is in many collections.
