Sven Berlin 1911 - 2000 Sven Berlin was born in London of a Swedish father and English mother. He was apprenticed as a mechanical engineer, then in 1928 enrolled at Beckenham School of Art but decided he was cut out to be an adagio dancer. In 1934 and 38 he studied art in Cornwall. A rather controversial character Berlin is a sculptor, painter, draughtsman and writer who has been collected by The Tate Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum and National Library of Scotland amongst others. |
