This book will enable the student to find and understand the elements that make a great piece of music appeal to the listener. It contains modes such as Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, Locrian. Other scales are renamed according to how they function in relation to a particular chord.

A circled letter indicates where a scale starts and ends. A circle indicates the root of a chord while letters within squares denote the other notes of that chord. This book shows you how to integrate the notes of one scale or a number of scales with certain chords in the creation of melodies. This can be used by the composer with even a limited knowledge of musical theory.
