I decided to write the How and Why Guitar System because I found that the other methods I was teaching from neglected to explain the theory behind the playing of the guitar. This task was always left entirely to the instructor. I feel that a method should contain adequate
text written so clearly that a student could even teach themselves. Of course, nothing can replace having an instructor. This also benefits guitar instructors; they can be assured that all the material that needs to be conveyed to the student is covered in a comprehensive text. The How and Why Guitar System initiated a better way of showing the neck which reflects what the student sees when looking at the guitar and the music simultaneously.
