Al Flosso: The Coney Island Fakir

If there is a better all around magician," master mentalist Joseph Dunninger wrote of his lifelong friend Al Flosso, "I have yet to discover him." Combining subtle, sophisticated manipulations with his bold, gritty persona, Flosso's magic became legendary. Though he stood only 5' 2", Flosso was a giant of the magic world.

"A few years ago I was a guest on a television talk show," magic consultant Charles Reynolds wrote in 1976. "When asked, 'Who do you consider to be America's greatest living magician?', my immediate answer was 'Al Flosso'. In the intervening years I could find no reason to alter that opinion. Al was not only a technically great entertainer, but in an art not noted for its originality, he was an original. No one imitated him, for he could not be imitated. There was only one Al Flosso."

Indeed, there was only one Flosso. This site provides some insights into the life and career of this unique performer. So, stand up straight, and prepare to enter the magical world of Al Flosso.
