What is Castlequest

Castlequest is a new kind of card game which uses original picture cards. There are 4 different arena cards and 14 different character cards. Each character card has a rating for each arena. For example, a King card has a higher rating in the Castle arena than it has in the Battleground arena. You play against the computer. The game starts with an arena card being randomly selected and each player (you and the computer) getting 5 cards. You then try to play the highest ranking card that you have for that arena. Each time a hand is played, a new card is drawn from the deck until no more cards exist. If an arena card is drawn, you may change the arena.

Purchasing Castlequest

Castlequest is $10 Shareware. This means that you can try it before buying it. If you like the game and keep it for more than 2 weeks, then you must purchase it for $10.

Option #1 (preferred). Recent Version History

v2.2 - 2/4/05

Game menu has been renamed to View.
There are now seperate windows for viewing Power and Hierarchy instead of using the same window for both.
"WINNER" and "Stalemate" now correctly flash several times when running in OS X.
After the end of a game, the window graphics were not correctly being displayed when starting the next game if running in OS X.
The Draw button was too narrow in OS X.

New Carbon version runs native on OS X (also runs on OS 8.6 through 9.2.2)
The "Heirarchy", "See Cards", and "Help" windows are less modal.
Other minor improvements mainly for better OS X compatibility.

v2.01 - 3/15/01

Bug Fix: if a game ended when player had no cards to play (only arena cards) and a new game was started, a "No more cards" error was shown as if the deck was empty.
After saving a file, the file's name is now used as the default title in further file saves.
COMMAND + N and COMMAND + S added to menus for New and Save.
