Systems?"
-
E-Mail - is the means
of communication within this SIG.
-
If you have not received informational e-mails and you belong to this
SIG, please e-mail me immediately
with your correct e-mail address. Bad transfer of info from your membership
applications into the PMI
database are known to be a regular hinderance to good communications. This
SIG does not have the
budget to fax or telephone. E-mail is the means of communication. Please
advise of any changes in your
e-mail addresses when known so we can continue to communicate in an effective
manner. Thanks.

Note: Automation Systems are an integral part of modern civilization
and will be even more extensively utilized in the future. They can be complex
and represent additional costs over traditional systems. They are, however,
implemented on the basis that the benefits outweigh the costs. Some examples
of these benefits are energy conservation, increased labor efficiency,
preventative maintenance, health & safety, information gathering and
fast response, in addition to going "where no one has ever gone before
"
From a PM perspective, one of the greatest challenges automation
systems introduce into a project is their pervasive nature. They cross over
numerous traditional work package boundaries and sub-trade boundaries, impacting
scope, time, and cost in a significant way. - from the PMI SIG official
website for information about the SIG.
