Atlas and textbook of Human Anatomy
by Dr. Johannes Sobotta. 1911
This is an excellent set! There are 831 illustrations- mostly in color! The cloth bindings are all tight and the hinges are in very good condition. Volume one is 258 pages and the title page reads "Atlas and textbook of Human Anatomy by Dr. Johannes Sobotta Professor of Anatomy in the University of Wurzburg Edited withAdditions by J Playfair McMurrich, AM Phd professor of anatomy in the university of Toronto; formerly Professor of Anatomy in the Universtiy of Michigan." The set is published by WB Saunders in 1911(2nd reprint). Volume 1 covers bones, ligaments, joints and muscles. All volumes have some shelf wear on the bottom edge and a very miniscule bit of water staining on page edges here and there. However, these stains are not huge and are confined to edges of the pages. These do not warp the pages at all and really do not take anything away from the overall quality of these books. They also do not go through the entire volumes.Volume 2 is 194 pages and covers the viscera including the heart. Volume three is in excellent condition and is 342 pages . It does have two lightly bumped corners on top. This volume covers vascular system, nerves and sense organs. Overall, these books are in great condition considering their age and the very detailed (almost beautiful?- that's in the eye of the beholder) illustrations make them an excellent addition to any anatomist, D.D.D or MD's library. $300.00
