Newsletter # 7 4/4/98
WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL PATTY DUKE NEWSLETTER #7!!!
Hello, people, I just wrote a novel to you guys about the chat, then I finished up the News Letter and when i was finished, I discovered that I deleted everything I said about the chat! So, since I am so pissed off, I will just write that everyone NEEDS to sign up with me by no longer than Wednesday to reserve a place in the chat. Remember that the chat is on Friday April 10th at 11 PM EST (Please try to be there atleast ten minutes early). Even If you have already verified that you will be in the chat, I am going to email you to re-verify it. Some people have also emailed me saying that they could come before they knew the date, but have not gotten back to me since. You NEED to get back to me because I still don't know whether or not you can get on AOL or if you are free at that time! Just because you are an online friend, doesn't mean I don't need to hear back from you. Also, there is a warning, if anyone misbehaves in the chat, which I doubt, there will be someone in there who can literally kick you right out of the chat and report you to AOL for misconduct!
I just want all of us to have the best time possible and want everything to go as smoothly as posible! I will be emailing the people attending within a few days with further instructions. -----Thanks, Bill
JIM GREEN CHAT COMING UP SOON!!!
"Patty Duke" reunion show producer Jim Green has agreed to do a chat for us! It ill be an AOL chat in a private room which I will monitor. Jim will borrow a screen name from a friend of mine and will answer your questions about the show, about his company, his past Anna projects and about show biz. It's up to you! There is no exact date setup yet but will most likely be sometime in April once the PD script is done. AOL members only! If you do not have AOL, than email me your questions and I will ask them. However, people who are actually in the chat room grt first priority, so get on a friend's computer! Only a max of 23 people are aloud, so I will be accepting people on a first come first serve basis.
Some More Great Information from Jim Green
Just sent the treatment to Anna who loved it so we're on to CBS. No telling what they will say. They are very critical and usually right so we send it with eager anticipation and awaiting confirmation of what to do and how to adjust if needed.
Stand by. Script will follow in mid May if all goes well. Shooting in June.
On another note, my daughter is a song writer and performer. She graduated from Stanford and is quite an accomplished choreagrapher and singer/writer trying to make her way in the music world---on her own without help from dad. She has submitted her music video to a web site that helps aspiring talent. You might want to check it out and tell others about it. The more who hook up to her the more chance she has of getting a recording deal. music video cdart.com w/realvideo is the web site to access/view the video she submitted and the chance to comment. Her name is Jamie Green and is now in the "garage band" category and moving up the ladder. If you like what you see, pass it on....
The National Canadian TV GUIDE recently told they're top twelve favorite tv women of all time. Anna came off as #5. Others included were Mary Tyler Moore, Lucille Ball, Candice Bergen, Jane Curtin, Oprah Winfrey, Julie Louis Dreyfuss , Catherine O'Hara and Elizabeth Montgomery.

Valley of the Dolls : A Novel ~ Usually ships in 24 hours
Jacqueline Susann / Paperback / Published 1997
Our Price: $9.60 ~ You Save: $2.40 (20%)
Synopsis:
Sex and drugs and shlock and more--Jacqueline Susann's addictively
entertaining trash classic about three showbiz girls clawing their way
to the top and hitting bottom in New York City has it all. Though it's
inspired by Susann's experience as a mid-century Broadway starlet who
came heartbreakingly close to making it, but did not, and despite its
reputation as THE roman á clef of the go-go 1960s, the novel turned out
to be weirdly predictive of 1990s post-punk, post-feminist, post "riot
grrrl" culture. Jackie Susann may not be a writer for the ages,
but--alas!--she's still a writer for our times. Note: Anna, Sharon Tate and Barbara Parkins (whom all starred in the film version) are all featured on the cover of this reprinted version of the 1966 novel.
