WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL PATTY DUKE NEWSLETTER #8!!!
Hello again everyone! What an exciting time we all had on Friday night! Anna was, as usual wonderful in her first ever chat and answered her questions like the pro she is. Things got rocky at first with certian people trying to get in, but couldn't, but eventually they did. Also, I would liek to apoligize to the first few people who spoke to Anna in the chat. My original intent was for each person to ask one quick question, get one quick answer and then off to the next person. However that did not happen, which was making me panick at the time, but now I feel mafe it a better, more in depth chat. People asked mroe than one question at times and Anna of course answered all of them. Some people interupted during the chat which mad me mad, but not I'm OK with it. It was such a hectic time for me organizing my very first chat, that saying my nerves were on edge would be an understatment. I had hoped to get though three rounds of questions, but we only got thru one, but like I said, everything worked out for the best since they were more in depth. People have emailed and/or IMed me since telling me how great a time they had and it was a night they would never forget (as well as some of Anna's hilarious one-liners!). We found out some very interesting things about Anna and I'm sure she found out some very interesting things about us. She was as great as she is on talk shows! I am currently editing the LONG transcript so the spelling, punctuation, and sentences all make sense to it's readers. The chat is about eleven pages long if you print it out and lasted from 12:30amEST to about 2:30amEST. I will be sending all of you the transcript right after i have completley edited it. I will also be posting it on my site.
MYSTERY SOLVED!!!!
IN the chat with Anna we learned when "The Dissapearing Act" will FINALLY air! If you remmember this is the film which Anna made about a year ago and was never aired. It will air under a new (but not better) title, "When He Didn't Return" on May 19th on the "CBS Tuesday Night Movie".
Also...Anna told us that her son, Mackenzie also has a new tv movie out called "The Long Island Incident" on Sunday May 3rd.
Her other son Sean, we learned also has a tv movie due out, but no date has been set. Anna also shared with us that Sean is working on developing a low budget film to star his mom and brother.
JIM GREEN CHAT COMING UP SOON!!!
"Patty Duke" reunion show producer Jim Green has agreed to do a chat for us! It ill be an AOL chat in a private room which I will monitor. Jim will borrow a screen name from a friend of mine and will answer your questions about the show, about his company, his past Anna projects and about show biz. It's up to you! There is no exact date setup yet but will most likely be sometime in April once the PD script is done. AOL members only! If you do not have AOL, than email me your questions and I will ask them. However, people who are actually in the chat room grt first priority, so get on a friend's computer! Only a max of 23 people are aloud, so I will be accepting people on a first come first serve basis.
The National Canadian TV GUIDE recently told they're top twelve favorite tv women of all time. Anna came off as #5. Others included were Mary Tyler Moore, Lucille Ball, Candice Bergen, Jane Curtin, Oprah Winfrey, Julie Louis Dreyfuss , Catherine O'Hara and Elizabeth Montgomery.

Valley of the Dolls : A Novel ~ Usually ships in 24 hours
Jacqueline Susann / Paperback / Published 1997
Our Price: $9.60 ~ You Save: $2.40 (20%)
Synopsis:
Sex and drugs and shlock and more--Jacqueline Susann's addictively
entertaining trash classic about three showbiz girls clawing their way
to the top and hitting bottom in New York City has it all. Though it's
inspired by Susann's experience as a mid-century Broadway starlet who
came heartbreakingly close to making it, but did not, and despite its
reputation as THE roman á clef of the go-go 1960s, the novel turned out
to be weirdly predictive of 1990s post-punk, post-feminist, post "riot
grrrl" culture. Jackie Susann may not be a writer for the ages,
but--alas!--she's still a writer for our times. Note: Anna, Sharon Tate and Barbara Parkins (whom all starred in the film version) are all featured on the cover of this reprinted version of the 1966 novel.
