Atocha's kittens
Our kittens are raised in our home "underfoot". Though seperated from the rough and tumble world of adult cats, our kittens are not in cages.
Our kittens are sold with a written health and sales contract, which must be exchanged prior to acceptance of any monetary deposits.
Our kittens are sold with VPI Pet Insurance which enhances our own health contract for 60 days.
Each kitten has it's own personality and temperment as well as physical attributes. Kittens are ready to leave here at about 14 - 16 weeks of age. This later age for placement is common amongst pedigreed cat breeders.
Our kittens are very important to us. We put a tremendous amount of time into raising them properly so that they can become part of your family.
A British Shorthair kitten will be with you for many years.
Its a lifelong commitment we expect from new owners of our kittens.
Reasons for getting a 4 month old kitten
1. kittens are fully weaned
2. have all their shots
3. have self confidence
4. dependable litter box habits
5. and are ready to become individuals rather then "part of a litter".
Up until this time kittens tend to be centered on their mom and their littermates. They play, eat and sleep together. As they get older they become more self sufficient. We believe that this is the better time to introduce them to a new life as a companion to humans. Your 14 - 16 week old kitten still has plenty of kitten activity in them. There is no fear that you would have missed "the fun age". Tiny kittens are sometimes difficult to wean getting diarrhea easily. Younger kittens are old enough to get into trouble but not old enough to get out, so need a lot of attention to keep them safe. An important consideration in today's society of busy families with dual working parents.
Currently we have a litter of 4 blue kittens. There is one male that is already sold, but the three darling girls are still available. Below is a picture of two of the girls taken when they were about 3 - 4 weeks old.
