Living in the City

Above him, a silvery quarter moon peeked around the edge of a dark cloud. On the streets below, dogs barked, radios blared and sirens wailed in the distance while the smell of frying onions wafted through the air. Leaning back in his chair, he took a long swig of cold beer. It wasn't easy, living in a noisy, congested city like Cascade. As he crossed his ankles, he rested an elbow on the chair next to him.
