"Trevor"

The general consensus in the 4 mails or whatever I have gotten so far is that this episode wasn't great. But I *liked* this episode!! There were several aspects that I enjoyed. I will format it like an extemp:

• Point A: The plot.
  • Subpoint A: it was a good MOTW. Involving. Had a point, not aimless. Not completely stupid, like Mexican Goatsuckers.
  • Subpoint B: it was creepy. Weird. I actually jumped a few times, like when Pinkus jumped out of the side hallway to confront Jackie that first time, even though I knew he was there.
• Point B: The Mulder and Scully interaction. I don't know WHAT this was. There was a quality to it that hasn't been there lately....it was lighter?
  • Example A: The tone in Mulder's voice when he said "Scully" when she suggested Spontaneous Combustion. Oh my god. It was so "I love you"
  • Example B: the diary comment and Scully's "Shut up" response
  • Example C: the general lack of antagonism or underlying bad tension
• Point C: The reappearance of trenchcoats
  • Example A: Scully's black one
• Point D: Mulder and Scully weren't stupid
  • Example A: rubber bullets
    • Modification 1: even if they didn't actually work
  • Example B: Glass phone booth
    • Modification 1: even if it can be broken
  • Example C: realizing Jackie's "son" was really Pinkus's kid
    • Modification 1: even if I realized it 15 minutes before they did
• Point E: the trailer
  • Subpoint A: it looks good
  • Subpoint B: OH MY GOD. Scully is going to hook up with the PSYCHO KILLER!!
    • Good: Mulder gets jealous
    • Bad: because she hooks up with him cause he has the power to make things happen (I'm not going to tell you how cause of spoilers) it would be like rape. And I don't like that. At ALL. And why can't Scully fall for a nice guy, like Bayliss in Homicidal Tendencies? Of course she'd have to realize Mulder is her one true love, but still.
    • Modification 1: Rumor has it Mulder saves her...somehow. I don't get it.

• Point A: Mulder's hair. It was like spiky and poofy. And STUPID. I miss Floppy Hair!Mulder
• Point B: well....Mulder's hair. It bothered me the whole damn time.
• Point C: Maternal!Scully showed up again. I like Maternal!Scully, but it makes me feel bad that she can't have kids. And I was like, DAMN! She'd be a good mom!
