Ellen & Lee Martin
Had a dream of a ministry reaching out to law enforcement officers and their families. In January of 1997 they created the Law Enforcement Family Training Foundation with the idea of demonstrating a common sense approach to dealing with stress. They live in Topeka Kansas where they both serve as chaplains for the Topeka Police Department.
This page is intended to provide some ideas of where you might get some help with the stress associated with your job.
We hope you find help and encouragement and have fun along the way.

WHERE'S A GOOD PLACE TO LOOK FOR HELP ?
Try looking at home first. Married officers have a great resource right at their side, waiting to help. Don't over look it.
check out this link and you'll understand what I mean.

"Divorce" doesn't need to be one of the greatest problems among law enforcement folks. There is help just waiting for you.

NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THE KIDS
Dear Mom & Dad,
I've just been wondering, if I became a policeman, what kind of car would I get to drive ? I think I want a fast one like this. What do you think ?
I drew a picture of what my car is going to look like, hope you like it.

Consider this your ride-a-long
Only this time we get to do the driving.
We have had a lot of fun with this page and don't mean to insult your intelligence. We understand that so many folks in law enforcement get a little frustrated with their co-workers who seem to always be jokeing around.
But life is too short to be serious all the time. Now For Something Serious
Real strength comes from a source that is available to all of us.
" But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength: They shall mount up with wings as engles: They shall run and not be weary: and they shall walk, and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31
The message is short, but it doesn't take a two hour sermon to say what we mean. We just want to plant a seed or two and let God do the rest.
Here's a deputy who can say it better anyway:
click on his link and listen to him.
