It's taken forever, but I finally have some pics of my Nova. She's a beautiful car.

'63 Chevy II Nova four door

Features:

- 194 c.i.d. straight six

- 13 inch wheels

- AM radio

- front seat belts (not original)

- left side mirror

- manual heater

- manual vents

- manual steering

- manual brakes

- manual antenna

She's a far cry from a Cadillac, but is a great car nonetheless.

History:

The Nova first came into my life when my mom bought it from my cousin. He had fished it out of a line of three or four cars leading down an old lady's driveway and into her garage. He had to buy all of the cars in order to get to a '58 Ford police wagon which was the first car in the line. The Nova had been sitting for 18 years. The lady was the original owner, and she let her son use it when he went to college.

The car had a persistent moldy odor, leaves clogging the vents, ugly dark metallic blue paint, and rotten weatherstripping, but after some work (including the addition of front seat belts), she ran. Eventually my mom had the engine rebuilt and sold the car to a friend.

Several years later, in early 1998, my mom bought the car back and she and her husband put a lot of work into it, including:

- new interior

- new paint

- new weatherstripping in in the doors, trunk, and under the rear bumper

- a good polishing of the chrome, along with some new chrome parts

- various tidbits like seat belts, a dome light lens, a parking brake handle, a light-switch, etc.

The car is technically still my mom's, but since she already has a car she lets me keep it at my house and treat it as if it's my own. Thanks Mom!!!

Pictures:

Since I have so few pictures right now, I'll just put them on this page until I gather more. The photo lab chopped the pics I took really stupidly. There isn't a standard photo size that will fit all of the contents of the negative, so they always have to trim some of your picture out. But they trimmed right through the car when they could have trimmed the other side! I'm going to get them reprinted for FREE, or else...

At any rate, here are the okay pics from the roll. They were all taken on a road trip to Berkeley that I took awhile back.

Same position, different shot. For some reason this picture makes me want to name the car Fritz.
