1. WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

"A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." -- The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

2. THE CONSTITUTION

3. INTERPRETIVE CASE LAW, ARTICLES AND STATUTES
The following citations are presented irrespective as to they are "pro-gun" or "anti-gun." The goal here is to compile something of an exhaustive list of "authoritative" legal resources where the Second Amendment is discussed. Ideally, all of the articles listed below would be "hyperlinked" to the actual articles themselves. Where that is not possible, however, I have taken to simply provide the citation for the article so you can review it yourself. Finally, a warning: some of these items cited deal only peripherally with the Second Amendment, but are included in the interest of completeness.

Much of this section was obtained from the excellent list of resources retrieved using the search engine found at Findlaw, using as my search term the phrase "second amendment".

Notwithstanding the utility of Findlaw, perhaps the best place to begin your research into law review articles on the Second Amendment is at the Second Amendment Law Library, which has an extensive, READABLE list of law review articles. From that list, I have included below [under the first "bullet"] only those articles that the Second Amendment Law Library deemed as good introductory articles. If you are interested in this type of legal research, you should be sure to hit the Second Amendment Law Library's more exhaustive list.
