I know with accuracy: Christopher Barbee, my gggg grandfather of NC; his son, Bartlett Barbee, b. NC and his wife Nancy F. O'Kelley (Chatham Co. NC). Bartlett and Nancy (granddaughter of James O'Kelley, popular Methodist minister in NC) moved to northern Dallas Co., Arkansas by 1860. Their daughter, Louisiana J. Barbee, married John Wesley Rogers in Dallas Co., whose daughter Nancy Elizabeth Rogers married Hugh Randolph Wilson; whose daughter, Lou Edward Wilson was my grandmother, marrying James Roy Wilson, my grandfather. This is fascinating that I have found a Barbee source. Anyway, I hired a researcher last year, and he sent me a nice file of Barbee papers of Christopher's will in 1860 listing of all things, the 29 slaves' names that were divided by lots to the descendants. The researcher said that possibly, Christopher Barbee's dad might have been Mordecai, and his dad might have been Goin Barbee, but he would need more time and money, of course. I would love to hear from you. BARBEE. My father was born in Granby, Missouri, in 1914. Not much doubt where CLARENCE BARBEE was living at that time. All my information stops there as if my line of BARBEEs just materialized in Grandby, Missouri. JAMES M. was married to CORRILO COLE and their son CLARENCE was married to CARIE HICKEY, who were my grandparents. JAMES THOMAS was married to EVELYN MARY FREYMUTH who They were my parents. That marriage and my birth took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1932 and 1938, respectively. I would dearly love to trace any ancestory back beyond Granby, Missouri. Help. |

He is also too young to have children before 1770. The other Joseph Barbee, d. 1790/1, spouse of Ann Withers, you already know about.
