Roald Dahl is my all-time favorite author. You might have seen movies based on his books, such as Matilda and James and the Giant Peach.
Read A poem from 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl for some really good advice!
I also like Betsy Byars a lot as well as Lois Lenski.
Lois Lenski wrote Indian Captive as well as Strawberry Girl.
If you want a good laugh, try Great Books by Louis Sachar or some of the Poems by Shel Silverstein.
And, everybody likes Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder .
I'm 10 years old and for kids my age, any book that has won the Newberry Medal is a good choice. Books that have won the Caldecott Medal are good for younger kids, especially everything written by Eric Carle or Chris Von Allsburg. Chris Von Allsburg wrote Jumanji.
