BELRIV- OASIS IN THE BELIZE RIVER VALLEY ..

The Oasis

Anyone who has seen the desert of despair,
can well appreciate the need for an Oasis of rest,
rejuvenation and caring...

Even though we meet in cyberspace,
we must have a base,
to temper our virtuality,
with a touch of reality.
Our oasis is the place
where all our rivers meet,
come in off the street,
wipe your feet
of man made despair,
come into warmth,
and love and care,
for you are welcome here!

We call our Belize River Valley an Oasis - because we feel the need for reconnection, regeneration, for revival of our spirits, and for pooling of our skills to overcome the deserts of despair and to seek fulfillment….

The Belize River Valley area has great potential for Eco-tourism development. It is a majestic pristine setting with biologically diverse flora and fauna, and the graceful curvaceous of the Belize River. The villages are in close proximity to each other. It has a fascinating culture and history of mahogany and logging. There is an avid interest in cricket and other sports - with an easy accessibility to the international airport. These tremendous assets provide a solid foundation for the development of Eco-tourism.

Eco-tourism in the Belize River Valley area is a family affair. The Oasis offers a home away from home stay - where you are welcome to come and rest, and to be revitalized. The Belize River Valley area boasts about its many caring individuals, and their wealth of relevant knowledge of the environment's flora and fauna.

There is a natural charm that Belizeans have with their uniqueness of experiences and services - which offer great potential for further development and marketing. There is a fledgling winery run by Uncle Charlie (Belgrove). There is fine home cooking that is flavored with history and old river charm - (with Aunt Edna), Miss Tiny, Miss Ger, Aunt Hetty, Ms. Dorlah and Ms. Roselle.

Musical, cultural and environmental groups are ready to share with you the lessons from the rainforests, and the timeless teaching of the Belize River.

It is not surprising that visitors to the Belize River Valley area are captivated by its diverse offerings, and they return year after year.
