Fire Prevention Specialist II

The Northwest Fire/Rescue District, the largest fire district in Arizona, is seeking dynamic individuals to join our Fire Prevention Team. Applicants for this position must be well versed in the application of the Uniform Fire Code and knowledgeable of the procedures for preparation and inspection of all facilities regulated by this code. In addition, applicants must be able to read and interpret construction drawings to determine compliance with fire code requirements. Additional knowledge and experience in the areas of fire investigations and public fire/safety education is highly desirable.

• Minimum qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• 3 yrs. experience in the fire prevention field

• Arizona Fire Inspector I Certification

• Uniform Fire Code Certification

• Valid drivers license

• Successful completion of core classes from an accredited college-level fire science program

Appropriate combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered. Arizona Firefighter II Certification is a plus.

Salary Range: $12.97 to 18.33 per hour. Excellent benefits

I'm the Safety Manager for XXXX. I have eight branches in Colorado and Wyoming I take care of. The Denver Branch is the largest in the world for our company.

I have over 350 employees to train and manage all areas of safety with, it's been very long and hard on me. My day starts at 0330 and ends sometime around 2200. Week-ends are set aside for writing training manuals. So, I think you can see, I'm not afraid of work. I am certified in OSHA, AAA and National Safety Defensive Driving Instructor courses. By the end of April, 98, I will also have my NRA Instructors Certification.Prior to  my current position, I was the Operations and Training Manager for Pinkerton Security from 1989 to 1993.
