BOBCOASTER'S COASTER PAGES
|
|
|
|
Welcome to my coaster pages! As a life-long coaster enthusiast, I believe that this website provides me with an opportunity to share portions of my photography collection as well as my passion for roller coasters. Through it, perhaps I can make a contribution to the coaster enthusiast community. I have had the opportunity to take photographs of now-defunct coasters. I also have photographs of the construction of more contemporary rides. None of these photographs can be taken again. Also on the site are additional coaster-related items, information about selected new coasters, and photographs supplied by other fans.

If you are curious about my screen name, you should know of my admiration for Prior and Church's Bobs Coasters. So Bobcoaster was just perfect! While not all of his coasters went by the name of Bobs Coaster, on this page are photographs of two of Fred Church's Bobs that I most respect. Many of his coasters appeared at beach resorts (especially in California); thus the concept of beach twister", and my usual background music. For further photographs of Fred Church coasters I have experienced, and to better understand my screenname, I would encourage you to begin your tour of my site on My Tribute to Fred Church Pages. Once you understand the type of design that fascinates me, go on to my other pages from the links below, but I would suggest that you next visit my Hometown Coasters page.

Bobcoaster's Coaster Pages include:

My Tribute to Fred Church Pages should be your starting point to understanding my screen name and my respect for Fred Church's roller coasters. These three pages discuss the Fred Church coasters that I most admire or have "met", and were last updated on 1/19/99 (with modifications to split the pages completed on 6/25/00).

Next, visit Bobcoaster's Hometown Coasters Page to learn more about the coasters (all defunct) that I grew up riding. These were the coasters that developed my love for roller coasters, and paved the way for the development of my design preferences. This page was published in Spring, 1998, and updated (with Hanson's kiddie coaster's name) on 5/17/99.

Then check out My Wood Coaster List Page to find out which wooden coasters I have ridden, last updated on September 19, 2006.

Visit My Tribute to Mr. Twister. This was, until its closing, my #1 roller coaster. I have two pages of photographs of this spectacular coaster. These pages were last updated 1/27/99 to include notice of the beginning of the ride's demolition.

Visit My Pages of Trip Reports. The first of these pages was published on 6/14/00, and now various pages feature reports and photos from trips to multiple parks. This section was updated on 6/7/02, with my report on my visit to Six Flags America.

Now, try to Guess the Defunct Coaster to find out how good your recognition or knowledge is of various defunct coasters. There is nothing "tricky" about the photos, but they're not necessarily the most famous views of these coasters. The page was updated on 5/4/04.

You can also Guess the Park. Four miscellaneous park scenes challenge you to identify the park (whether still operating or defunct, or whether the individual rides shown still operate). Page updated 5/5/04.

|
|
Visit my Defunct Parks Brochure Pages which feature various scenes scanned from old brochures showing now-defunct parks. Currently, the pages feature Rocky Glen Park, and were updated 3/9/03.

Even though roller coasters seem to be a large part of who I am, I am happy to admit to a similar love of Anglican Church music. I am an Episcopalian church organist/choirmaster. I spend whatever leisure time roller coasters do not occupy working with, performing, or listening to Church music.

Download some tracks from my No Limits page. No Limits is a coaster simulation software program available for purchase over the internet. It allows for some realistic wooden coaster representations. Check out my original designs and real coaster recreations! Page was updated on 6/7/07.

My Collection of Photographs is a group of pages featuring photographs from my collection that focus on currently operating rides and parks. Updated on 3/18/03, there are five pages featuring Libertyland.
