Name and Location:
Ron, Karen and Aimee Qin Murphy
Zebulon, North Carolina
We began the adoption process in November 1995 using Holt International
Children's Services in Eugene, Oregon. Our North Carolina contact agency
was Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas, Raleigh, NC. Lutheran
did our home study, assisted with the dossier, and other post adoption placement
procedures. They were great!!
Our dossier was sent to China on November 8, 1996. After a very long wait we received the referral of Hong Yang Qin on July 30, 1997. We had already decided to name our daughter Amy. After seeing the referral photo and learning Amy's Chinese name (Hong Yang Qin), we decided to name her Aimee Qin (pronounced Chin). We changed the spelling of Amy to make her name more unique.
Karen was not able to travel to China. Ron's oldest brother's wife, Nell ,who has 5 grandchildren and loves to travel, volunterred to go with Ron to get Aimee. It was a blessing to have someone with her experience along.
Ron and Nell left for China on Sept. 10, 1997 and returned home Sept. 25, 1997 with a tired but beautiful little girl. We were all tired ;" 36 hours with almost no sleep" when we arrived home, finally!
This is Hong Yang Qin's referral photo.
Don't you think she is beautiful!!!!!!
Our First Look at Aimee Qin (Hong Yang Qin) born May 8, 1996. This picture was taken when she was four months old.
Her medical records (only scant information was sent from China) show that at four months old she weighed 13.86 lbs. and was 23 inches long. According to the Chinese growth chart she was in the 25th percentile in height, 75th percentile in weight, and 65th percentile in head circumference.
Aimee is from Jiangxi Province, City of Nanchang. She was in the Nanchang Municipal Social Welfare Institute.
Aimee has been with us 6 months now.
She is 22 months old, weighs about 30 pounds and is 31 inches tall.
Aimee is a wonderful little girl, full of energy.
She is walking and is romping everywhere, loves to climb stairs "when we let her".
Now, that Aimee is home we have some new Pics for everyone to see.

Aimee's aunt Nell who went with Ronald to China has agreed to
post her diary of our trip.
