FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a powerful alternative medical treatment modality...

April 1999 -- Hypnosis may utilize the services of a professional hypnotist, or may be self-induced with proper training.  It is a way of directly accessing your subconscious mind, exploring its contents, and aligning it with your conscious mind.  Hypnosis has been used traditionally for habit modification, such as smoking cessation, nail biting, and control of overeating.  However its uses are far more extensive than commonly known.  Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis in a therapeutic process for change and personal growth.

In addition to changing behaviors and reaching for personal self growth, hypnosis is widely used for pain control, dental discomfort, stress management, and even to control bleeding in accidents or during surgery.

Hypnotherapy is not a licensed profession in New York.  However many practicing hypnotherapists have credentials in other mental health fields.   Training programs for hypnotists range from a weekend to a year.  So choose a practitioner whose training and experience are in line with your personal goals.  We recommend that you choose a practitioner who holds advanced certification from the National Guild of Hypnotists, the largest and most active hypnosis organization in the World.
