** Please be aware that registries such as the AKC, CKC, etc. are merely organizations that register purebred dogs of registered parents. This does NOT mean that a dog from a particular registry is of desirable temperament, etc. These registries do not nor could not visit every breeder to see that they follow an honorable code of ethics. (Usually, it is up to the individual breed clubs to inform buyers of the best breeders for their breed.) Therefore, when deciding on a pup, make sure that the breeder is a reputable breeder who screens the parents and pups for genetic problems. The statement, "My dogs are ___-registered" means nothing if the breeder has not fulfilled his/her responsibilities to ensure excellent quality pups. **

A&A

The Schipperke Club of America breeder referral contact is Margi Brinkley (541) 259-3826. She can give you the names of breeders in your area. It is still up to you to make sure the breeders are reputable by talking to former buyers, making sure the pups are genetically screened, and assuring that the breeder will take back the pup if necessary via a written contract. The breeder should also ask you many questions to determine that you will provide the right home for their pup. Good luck - the search for a good-quality pup will pay off in the long run!
