SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

 Divisions:

Young Rider: Riders 10 and under.

Junior Rider: Riders 18 & Under

Open:  Riders 18 and over

Jackpot Open: Open

Pee-Wee (PW):  Walk/Trot for Riders 12 & under.  May not cross enter into any other divisions.

Ambler’s (A): Walk/Trot for Riders 13 & older.  May not cross enter into any other divisions.

Novice Rider/Horse:  Riders/Horse In First and Second Year. May not cross enter into any other divisions except Jackpot Open.

 

General

1.     Registration for any class or event is considered acceptance to these rules.

2.     Neither Andora Farm, Tom and/or Patt Seay, their designated representative, agents, employees, staff, guests, or sponsors will be responsible for any accident, injury, or loss which may occur to exhibitors, spectators, horses, or any other animals, vehicles, equipment or property at any show, event and/or activity.

3.     Shows shall be ran in the spirit of fun and safe competition.

4.     American Quarter Horse Association, American Horse Show Association and National Barrel Horse Association rules will be used as a guideline, with modifications by Andora Farm’s rules and class specification. 

5.     All exhibitors will be required to sign a "Release And Waiver Of Liability And Responsibility" form upon registration for any class entered.

6.     All entrants must show a current (within one year) Coggins test for each equine exhibited, and any other equine brought on the premises for any other reason.

7.     At the discretion of Andora Farm and/or the show committee any exhibitor or spectator who is abusive to any animal or individual, displays unsportsman-like conduct, or demonstrates any behavior that is disruptive to the show, will be required to leave the premises for the remainder of the show.  No class fees will be refunded.

8.     No alcoholic beverages, drugs or any other items of such nature will be allowed on the premises.  Anyone in violation of this rule will be required  to leave immediately.  You will not be allowed to complete the show, and no class fees will be refunded.

9.     No running, cantering/loping, or general horseplay will be allowed.

10.  No mini-bikes, motorbikes, or bikes of any kind, will be allowed on the premises.

11.  All dogs must be on a leash and be under the supervision of an adult.  Any dog which displays aggressive behavior or is disruptive to the event, may be required to be removed from the premises.  Proof of vaccinations must be available upon request.

12.  Do not ride near the show rink.

13.  Horses will not be allowed at the Registration Area, the Announcers' Area or food and/or vendors booths.  You must keep a safe distance from these areas.

14.  Andora Farm and/or the Show Committee will not tolerate any abuse towards the Show Committee.  You will be required to leave the premises for the remainder of the show and no class fees will be refunded.

15.  Riders may be disqualified for not being in the ring within two (2) minutes of the call for a class.

16.  No unauthorized person(s) will be permitted in the ring at anytime during any class.

17.  Children must be kept under control at all times.  There is no playing allowed in the barns, ring, registration areas, or Announcers' areas.

 

COMPETITION RULES

 

1.        Riders will have the option of run in/out.  It is the rider’s responsibility to notify the gate keeper of their preference.  Gate keeper is not responsible for any miscommunications.

2.        Any time a contestant crosses the starting line, time will begin.

3.        A contestant will be disqualified for missing the pattern.

4.        For all barrel & Pole classes:  A contestant will be given a "5 Second Penalty" for knocking over a barrel/Pole. A "5 Second Penalty” will also be given if a barrel/Pole is knocked completely over and it sets up again on either end. Touching a barrel/Pole, including keeping it from falling, is permitted without penalty. A contestant will also be given a no time if the horse or rider falls during the run in such a manner as to break the pattern, or if the rider falls off the horse.

5.        For all Keyhole classes:  A contestant will be given a "No Time" for running outside of the Keyhole. A " No Time” will also be given touching the lines, knocking over cones, bypassing the keyhole and/or any other off pattern runs.   A contestant will also be given a no time if the horse or rider falls during the run in such a manner as to break the pattern, or if the rider falls off the horse.

6.        Only one horse may be in the arena at any time during competition.

7.        Entries for a class will close one class prior to the start of each class.  Under no circumstances will entries be taken for a class after the first horse in that class has entered the arena.

8.        Riders entering the same class more than once must use a different number for each entry, with points accumulating separately for each number.

 

RERUNS

 

1.        Reruns shall be granted if the timer fails to work properly or if the barrels are not placed properly on their markers. No prior penalty will apply to the rerun.

 

PENALTIES AND/OR DISQUALIFICATIONS

Any of the following actions may result in penalties or disqualification:

 

1.        Using abusive language or attempting to threaten, bribe, influence or harass any contestant or show official.

2.        Moving or attempting to move markers at any time.

3.        Use of electronic and/or remotely controlled devices, fraud, cheating or deception to alter and/or record the outcome of a run.

4.        Abuse of a horse in any way.

5.        Competing while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

6.        Other conduct, determined by Andora Farm and/or the Show Committee, not to be in the best interest of the show.

 

Dress Code

1.  Dress is causal but tasteful.  All participants are required to wear boots. No shorts, tank tops or tennis shoes will be allowed.  Helmet or Hardhats are highly recommended.

 

VSBRA Sanctioned Classes:  Sanctioned classes are Barrel Classes numbers 12 (10 and under only), 13, 14, 17 & 18. It is the rider’s responsibility to report their winnings to VSBRA in the appropriate VSBRA division(s). Click Here to Visit The VSBRA Web Page

 

Paybacks

1.  Pay back is 75% with each class, except the exhibition, paying places 1-3:  1st = 40%, 2nd = 20% and 3rd = 15%.  If only 1 or 2 places are paid due to disqualifications payback will still be no more than the percentage per placing indicated.

 

Year End Awards:  To qualify for year end awards riders must pay a one time registration fee of $10.00 and ride in at least 3 shows, using the same rider/number combination in the same division(s)..  Points toward the year end awards will not start accumulating until registration fee is paid and points accumulated prior to fee being paid are not retroactive.   Points accumulate at 1 point for each dollar won per rider/number combination.  Belt Buckles will be presented to the Champion and Reserve Champion in each Division at the last show.
