News Flash: The Flamenco List at Temple University is no more. Our profound thanks to Sue Banka, who kept it running for so long.
I have started a PUBLIC AOL group called simply "Flamenco" at AOL; there is no censorship, an hopefully a lot of shared knowledge and a lot of fun. (I will be shortly closing down the private one, for obvious reasons)
I will try to contribute to this list as much as time and energy allow, but it is up to all of you to make it a dynamic and delightful place to visit.
You don't have to be invited to join (as with the previous private group; AOL's public groups are a recent addition). Simply download AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and get a screen name and password.
You can do this at:
AOL Groups: http://groups.aol.com
Once this is accomplished, you can search on "Flamenco" (capital F, otherwise lowercase) or simply sign in and go to the
Flamenco group Web page at: http://groups.aol.com/flamencofiesta .
All instructions are on the AOL site, and are very clear and easy to follow. The mailing list address is: FlamencoFiesta@groups.aol.com
Other lists:
There are a number of other mailing lists (you may have to do some slight research to figure out how to join them; I've even forgotten how to join my own old list at Yahoo...:-)
1. FlamencoDancer - Yahoo - a delightful place to visit, enjoyable company, and good insight into flamenco dance.
2 Dmitri's Flamenco list at www.guitarteacher .com - a good resource to discuss flamenco guitar
3. Flamenco - Yahoo - This is a list I started at Yahoo when the list closed down before. Very quiet, and Yahoo may be shutting it down for lack of activity, since I was sending everyone over to the Temple list. - at the very least, its future is uncertain
4. Flamenco -discussion - this is Jerry Lobdill's groups, also started as a reaction to the Temple list shutting down.
