Quilts I Have Made

(And a few other projects)

Quilts for friends

[chips n salsa quilt] The name of this quilt is "Chips 'n' Salsa." It is an original design; the idea came to me in a dream.
It was made as a wedding present for my friends Bill and Kathy, and was finished in 2000.
There are over 1600 triangles in there, from over 20 different yellow and tan fabrics.

Quilts for Lonestar Mensa's Scholarship Fund

[eccentric stars quilt] This quilt was raffled off for Lonestar Mensa's Scholarship fund at the 2000 RG in Austin. It's a lap-quilt (or baby quilt), about 40"x60".

Almost all the fabrics have metallics in the prints. The borders have 10 different moon-and-stars fabrics in them.

This quilt was raffled off for Lonestar Mensa's Scholarship fund at the 1999 RG in Austin. It's a twin-bed size.

The center of each log cabin square has a different owl embroidered in it. The center square is a snowy owl. The plain blocks are fabrics of oak leaves and pine cones. Although it doesn't show up too well here, the sashing and borders are mostly shades of dark green.

Embroiderers of owls included R. Kelly Wagner, Clarice Peacock, and Lise Waring.
