Double G, music director"Some say there is nothing new under the sun, but in Los Angeles,
the sun must be shining very brightly on a new musical innovation."
CBS Radio - December 19, 2002daKAH is the sound of Los Angeles: a 65-piece orchestra with violins, violas, cellos and basses - all the strings, woodwinds and brass, plus congas, sitar and guitars, Afro-Cuban percussion section, two turn-tablists and five emcees, with many of hip-hop's great musicians including members of the Breakestra, Black Eyed Peas, Macy Gray, Nikka Costa... daKAH's sound fuses a swirling mass of singers and rappers in symphonic form, with spiritual guidance in the music of Cuba, India and Africa, and musical influences by the likes of Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington. daKAH was a smash at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, San Francisco's Northbeach Jazz Festival and Grand Performances in Los Angeles.
