Here’s a fun dice game for all ages! All you need are a pencil and paper for everyone, and one regular die. The goal is to be the first person to draw a beetle. No artistic skill is needed, however, as you can tell from the picture.
The beetle has thirteen body parts all together – a Body, a Head, two Eyes, two Feelers, six Legs, and a Tail. Before drawing a body part, you must roll its corresponding number on the die:
[1] for the Body
[2] for the Head
[3] for each Eye
[4] for each Feeler
[5] for each Leg
[6] for the Tail
So, to win you must roll a 1, a 2, two 3’s, two 4’s, six 5’s, and a 6. Also, you can not draw ANY body parts until you’ve rolled a 1 for the Body. What’s more, you must roll a 2 for the Head before you can use a 3 or 4 for the Eyes and Feelers.
Players each take turns rolling the die only once per round. The first to finish his beetle wins.
(POINTS OPTION: The round ends when a player has completed his beetle. At this time, each player scores one point for each of the thirteen body parts assembled, and another round begins. The first player to score 51 points wins the game.)
I’ve heard there are special "Beetle Dice" available for this game with the faces marked to indicate the body parts. If anyone has any information about where I could get them, please E-mail me. Thanks!
