    Entertainment and Tourism

There are plenty of things to do in Council Bluffs. The best place to start for more info would be the Council Bluffs Conventions and Visitors Bureau. (The Iowa Convention & Visitors Bureau Association can also assist you with much of your Iowa vacation questions.)

Three of the more famous Council Bluffs historical sites would include the General Dodge House, the Black Angel, and the Squirrel Cage Jail.

    For movie-goers, there's the Omni 4.

For outdoor recreation, try the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, as well as the new trails around town for hiking or biking.

If you prefer gambling, be sure to visit all three casinos in town: Bluffs Run Casinos, Harvey's Casino and Hotel, and Ameristar Casino and Hotel. There is plenty of action around the clock and plenty of good food as well.

There's also plenty to do across the river in Omaha. The Henry Doorly Zoo is open year-round with PLENTY for the whole family to see and do. The Joslyn Art Museum and Omaha Children's Museum provide plenty of "museum" opportunities. The Old Market is a very popular place to dine and shop. The College World Series in late-May/early/June is a great way to get a tan. See a SR-71 Blackbird at the SAC Air Museum.

Whatever your reason for visting the Council Bluffs-Omaha metro area, please be sure to stay in one of our local hotels or motels.
