Hello: My name is Rodney Wayne Gertsch, "May 22, 1955" and my two brothers, Clyde Timothy "Jan 10, 1952" and Gregory Lyn July 31, 1956 would like to locate a brother Michel Wynn "Nov 13 1953" that was taken by the state of Nebraska and put up for adoption in 1956 or early 57. We don't know much about him or the reasons for this action but here is what we do know. Michel may have been removed from the home because he was set in scalding water. He was a large baby, 14 lbs. or so. We all have the same mother and father. Our mother was Hazel Ann (Anderson) Hamilton by adoption, Gertsch by marriage on June 7, 1951. Our father was Clyde T. Gertsch Sr. born in Richland Nebraska to Calvin T. Gertsch and Mattie Campbell Pilling on May 21, 1924. After our fathers death in Ithica NY on August 11, 1973 my mother remarried twice, out living both and is now retired living with me. She has no useful info for our search and is not upsetthat we are looking for him.Michel may have been adopted by a doctor and his wife, a nurse through the Beatrice State Mental Hospital. The adoptive parents may have worked in a hospital in Columbus, Platte Co. Nebr. These folks may have moved or lived around LincolnNebr. I have heard from my Grand Mother Dr. Dorothy Dee Hamilton that the parents brought Michel to a birthday party held at 7101 Leighton, St. Lincoln Nebr. back in 56, 57, or 58, she isn't sure of the year and no one knows the last name of the folks that adopted him.We can only guess at his description but we are pretty sure he is at least 6 feet 6 inches tall with Brown or darker straight hair. Blue eyes, may have a yellow ring around the iris, could weigh as much as the youngest brother Greg, 300 lbs., also almost a 14 lbs. baby.We are interested in just knowing if he is alive and if he is simillar to us and the other Gertsch relatives.
