NRHS SPRING 2008 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

The event came off as planned except for the Night photo session that was canceled on account of low sales. The weather was pretty good considering the forecast. The Alco RS-3 did make the Saturday trip after a tough trip to the event. The snow had melted for our bus trip to the north.

Approximately 100 attended the meetings.

34th ANNUAL TRAIN FAIR

The 34th Annual Model Train Show and Sale is Scheduled for November 1 and 2, 2008

We are making a significant change for this year. We are planning on using a larger building instead of the Horticulture building. This will give us an extra 40,000 sq. ft. of space, plus the new building does not have the ;large square areas that the Horticulture Building had. Thus we have one very large open area to work with. This should allow us to have space for a layout we could not accommodate and other vendors we could not handle last year and give some room to grow with.

Therefore all vendors and displays previously located in the Horticulture building will be relocated to the new larger building. We also expect to relocate some of the exhibits from the Center of Progress Building, allowing us to relocate all the exhibits from COP loading dock to the main part of the COP building.

Our operating 1-1/2" model steam locomotive that made its inaugural runs with air for a source of power, will be back with a bigger air tank.

We are working on other plans to enhance the show.

Applications to be sent out in July of 2008.
