Map showing the village of Bishopstone

Bishopstone is a village set in the Chalke Valley which runs in a South Westerly direction from the famous Cathedral City of Salisbury, about 8 miles distant.  It has a church, village hall, recreation field and two public houses although one is presently closed.  The nearest shops and schools can be found at the adjacent villages of Coombe Bissett and Broadchalke.

Bishopstone is a pretty village with the river Ebble running through the centre. There are presently a number of small rural businesses including a blacksmith but most activity still centres around farming. The famous watercress beds closed in 2002 and have become a trout fishing area, complimenting the river as a source of brown trout. The village has a great history and it is hoped to include historical elements on this web site, in the near future.
