The Center was organized to study and promote higher-order
reading, language, and thinking functions across ages, grades, and disciplines.
The objective of the Center is to help create an environment more conducive
to the acquisition of these highly valued, but often slighted educational
goals. Accordingly, the focus of the Center is in the creative-constructive,
more so than the literal, reconstructive side of thinking and
learning.
