In the course of Cleveland Hall`s 43 year history a number of players who have represented the Boys Club have gone on to successful careers in professional football. They are recognised below in the Cleveland Hall of Fame.
STEVE STONE Nottingham Forest FC & England
Steve played for a number of years for Cleveland Hall before breaking into professional football with his current club. Despite having suffered three broken legs (Not all different legs) he established himself as an England regular prior to Euro 96. Click here for further information on Steve
CHRIS SWAILES Doncaster Rovers Ipswich Town & Bury FC
Chris is a tall central defender who has recently moved to Gigg Lane in a swap deal with the highly rated David Johnson. After finishing his time with Cleveland Hall Chris was taken on as a professional by Doncaster Rovers. He was transferred to Ipswich Town for the sum of £250,000 in the summer of 1994 and after making nearly 100 appearances for the Portman Road outfit moved to Bury in October 1997.
PAUL WILLIAMS Sunderland Doncaster Rovers
Paul graduated from Cleveland Hall in 1986-87 to sign forms with Sunderland. Having been a prolific striker during his days at the Boys Club Denis Smith soon converted Paul into a full back and he made a successful 1st team debut v Bournemouth in a league cup win in 1989. However Paul then suffered serious injury problems and his first team appearances were restricted. Following years fighting for full fitness Paul was allowed a free transfer to Doncaster Rovers.
LEE WARREN Leeds Utd Hull City Doncaster Rovers
Lee is currently club captain at Doncaster Rovers although his performances, both this season has last, have been blighted by recurrent injury problems. Having started off his league career with Leeds he soon moved on to Hull City for a fee of £60,000 before signing for Doncaster in the summer of 1994. We naturally wish Lee all the best in his struggle against injury. Click here for latest Doncaster Rovers team news
PAUL THIRLWELL Sunderland
Paul is definitely one for the future! Having starred in the Cleveland Hall Under 12 team which went undefeated through the 1991-92 season Paul signed schoolboy forms with Sheffield Wednesday. At 16 he was signed by Sunderland and he has been a regular in Sunderland`s reserve team this season. A cultured midfield player who is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
GRAEME JONES Doncaster Rovers Wigan Athletic
Graeme is an exciting front player whose main claim to fame is being the top scorer in division three in the 1995-96 season. That corresponded with Wigan being promoted as champions and he has continued to score goals regularly at the higher level. Graeme has scored goals throughout his career and he was top scorer at Doncaster Rovers for 2 consecutive seasons before his £200,000 transfer to Wigan in the summer of 1995.
Craig is the owner of one of the most cultured left foots ever to represent Cleveland Hall. He played for the club during his Under 13 season in 1992-93 and demonstrated a mature attitude to go with his undoubted skill. Craig has recently broken into the Middlesbrough first team, displacing experienced internationals such as Kinder and Fleming, and other than one unfortunate sending off (later rescinded) he has acquitted himself admirably.
