Hobbies
Fair cop, I am a tennis nut! That is not to say that I only talk and think tennis, but when I am not at work it is the thing that I like to do the most, and I can play a bit too.
I play for Crawley Lawn Tennis Club, now days playing for the second team. I am always striving to improve, but it takes much time and effort and although I have the passion I think I lack a bit in height & weight!
My other pastimes include cycling, home computing, working with graphics and DTP packages. This has led onto an element of web design.
Combining my hobbies I have designed, created and now maintain the Crawley Tennis Club’s web page. This is done in my spare time with very little help from others at the club. I am sure you know how it is — everybody thinks that it is a good idea as long as someone else is doing it.
My general interest in computing is supported by my studies. I recently obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Computing for Commerce and Industry (OU). I really enjoyed the course, it opened my mind to many new possibilities and techniques. I am now considering the option to continue my studies onto the Msc level.
Car wise, I had a passed love affair with a Reliant Scimitar. It has long gone now, for better or worse, but I just loved the sound of that V6 when she opened up on an open road. Don’t think of taking her in town though, with a clutch of a tank and an engine that was all too keen to over heat, in the end my head ruled my heart.
Beyond these hobbies I have a lovely wife and home. I think all the above nicely fill out my time — any chance of making an eight day week?
