... and the lost covers
In 1992, John Stewart released a cassette only album, Teresa and the Lost Songs. It contains some remarkable material (some available nowhere else), including a number of songs that show up on people's favorites lists, such as Across the Milky Way, or Lily and Joe.
In 1998, the album was finally released on CD by John's own label Homecoming. There were some changes made when the CD was released, two songs from the cassette (Songs of all the Angels, Wings of St. Michael) were left off and planned for a still unreleased Angel songs CD, and 3 songs were added, A Woman Rides the Beast, the true lost classic Cooler Water, Higher Ground, and an old cut John recorded as a nod of the hat to Lindsay Buckingham, Liddy Buck, following Lindsay's nod to John with his own cut Johnny Stew.
Here's the design chosen for the CD cover. Following that are workup artwork of the covers that didn't make the final cut. Have a look and see if you would have chosen something different.
