Albuquerque is divided into four quadrants: Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest. The borders of the quadrants are based on Central Avenue's east-west intersection of the city and the railroad track's north-south intersection. Street addresses throughout the city are followed by their quadrant designation: NE, SE, NW and SW.
