PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!
SPAYING and NEUTERING is the
Answer to the Overpopulation problem.

shelters are euthanized.
10-80 cats are killed each day
in the Treasure Valley.
Altered pets are healthier, happier and live

LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER
PROGRAMS
Please contact us and we will assist you in getting your cat's spayed or neutered at a price you can afford. Either it will be thru
our program or thru one of the other local rescue group's program.
We will work with you. We want all unaltered cats to be
spayed and neutered so they and their offspring don't have to keep being killed. Get
those stray cats fixed also!
Thank you for your inquire about our low cost spay and neuter program.
This is a basic description of how we can help. Please read carefully.
We are a local cat rescue group mostly self funded. Teresa works at
Orchard Animal Clinic and they provide her with awesome medical support.
Recommended ages for surgery for kittens is 5-6 months. YOU MUST MAKE THE
APPOINTMENT WITH TERESA to get this reduced cost (585-9665).
DO
NOT CALL THE CLINIC!
Thru Orchard, we can offer:
$35.00 for spays (females) and $25.00 neuters. (If
you have trouble with the surgery prices, let us know)
The spay and neuter procedure includes: physical exam, anesthesia and
surgery monitoring, the spay/neuter, a pain injection (most other programs
do not include pain management).
Other reduced services you can ask for during the appointment is:
-FVRCPC vaccine $4.00 Important for all cats.
-FIV/Leukemia test $17.00 Highly recommended for outdoor cats
-Leukemia vaccine $5.50 Important for all cats that go outdoors
-Rabies vaccine $5.00 Recommended
-Microchip for identification, $25 with registration included!
Normal prices are $35-$50.
The cat cannot eat after 10 p.m. the night before the surgery. No
food or water is allowed the morning of the surgery. When you make
the appointment with Teresa, it is very important that the cat is at the
clinic by 8-8:30 a.m. The clinic opens at 7:15 a.m. if you want to
drop off earlier. Then Teresa or someone from the clinic will call
you after the surgery and give you a pick up time. The cat cannot be
left at the clinic overnight.
NOTE: If the cat is sick, sneezing, eye discharge,
lethargic ect, it can not have surgery until it is healthy. If the
cat has fleas, you must get rid of the fleas before they come in.
Frontline is the best choice for fleas.
The preferred days for surgery are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
If the cat is feral (very wild) or somewhat wild, please let Teresa know.
If you need to borrow a trap or carrier, also let Teresa know.
Please let us know if you have questions. Thank you so much for
getting your cat's spayed and neutered. There just isn't enough
homes for all of them and too many are killed.
WE ARE ON A SPAY AND NEUTER MISSION!
The American Humane Association states that:
"2 uncontrolled
breeding cats, plus all of their kittens if none are ever spayed or
neutered, add up to 2 million by the 8th year"!
Take the challenge! Can
you spay or neuter one cat by the end of this year (and vaccinate to
protect from diseases). If each of us help one cat, wow, the results
will be awesome!. Please let me know if you take the challenge.
It is so rewarding to help.
If we can get everyone to help,
hopefully in the next few years we can have a no-kill state. Where
no healthy, adoptable pets will be euthanized. What a great
accomplishment we can all make possible.
If you are one of those people who
doesn't think it matters to spay and neuter or to help, please spend a day
at a local shelter. Watch them pile up animal after animal as they
euthanize them. It is a site and feeling you will never, ever
forget.
