HOW TO HELP

Please take the time out to read and/or print out this page.  You may be able to help in some small way.  Helping doesn't always mean donating money!

We only receive about 5-10% of outside help with finances and food and litter.  The costs really add up.

Cat boarding services benefiting Conrad Strays!

Items needed to sell at garage sales

We have great success with our garage sales benefiting our rescue efforts.  For this reason, we are going to have sales on a regular basis!  So…. WE NEED nice items donated!  Our success depends on donations to sell!  Please call or email us if you have items to donate for us to sell.  100% of the money will go towards our rescue efforts, veterinary services and much needed spaying and neutering.  Please email or call to make arrangements.  This is a great and easy way to help.  Also, you can donate handcrafted items for us to sell.

NEW OR USED ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE FOSTER CATS:

MONEY DONATIONS Money donations are very important and very needed.  We are expecting to reach $20,000 in veterinary services this year (2005).  We help fund spaying and neutering for all of our rescued cats/kittens, stray cats, feral cats and low income families' cats.  We pay for any medical service our foster cats need.  We never deprive them of needed medical care. You can donate thru PAY PAL (see link on home page) or by sending a donation to: Conrad Strays, PO Box 84, Middleton, ID  83644.  All donations are tax deductible.  Every single penny goes to helping the cats. We don't have a paid staff, we don't fund parties, we don't fund euthanizing thousands of animals.  Our funds only benefit each cat we help and again, we don't believe in killing as a way to make space for more animals to come in and to sugar coat the problem.  We believe in prevention of more litters being born

CAT LITTER (any kind) Affordable unscented (we don't like their scented brand) litter is available at Wal-Mart with their brand of regular clay litter called "Special Kitty" (red bag, 25 lb) for only $1.97, and clumping for $5.47 for 25lb.  We would love to have "Fresh Step" regular clay or clumping.

FOLDING TABLES  preferably light weight but any are appreciated!  We need as many as possible to use at our yard sales.

CAT FOOD - Most needed at this time is: Hill's Science Die senior, senior hairball, adult hairball.  Any kind of can food is needed for giving medicines in and to get picky eaters to eat.  We need special diets:  Hill's Science Diet a/d, k/d, w/d, c/d, i/d, dry and can food.

SLEEPING BAGS - We need old sleeping bags to help insulate feral cat housing to help keep them warm in the winter.

COLLARS (we need collars! 10-14" safety ones)

We need a newer MINI VAN donated!  For hauling yard sale items and kitties to adoption sites.

Used VCR and DVD movies and music CDs (in good condition only) to sell at our yard sales!  They are good sellers!

SMALL BUILDING in the Boise or Meridian area to act as at least a weekend adoption shelter to help get kitties adopted!

Paper sacks to play in! (paper grocery sacks, big ones)
Kennels/crates - we need new or used kennels. We like the "Petmate" brand wire kennels.  They can be bought at Walmart.  Sizes we need are 24" x 36" x 27"  and smaller ones are 24"x18"x20".  These can be set up in seconds.

Cat beds (preferably totally washable ones without foam)

Cat nip!
Bird feeders
Cat grass
Scratching posts
T
oys (they would love some toys)
Any kind of wood to build enclosures and  isolation/quarantine areas

Cardboard catnip scratching pads
Paper towels
Storage cabinets
Wild bird seed (they enjoy bird watching as part of their entertainment and therapy!)
13 gallon trash bags

HOW TO HELP THE PET OVERPOPULATION PROBLEM:

Sponsor a Conrad Strays cat to be spayed or neutered ($30.00).
Spay and neuter your pets!
Spay or neuter a stray! (remember, 1 pair of cats and their offspring after 7 years equals 420,715 cats).  It does make a difference to help a stray!
Offer to have a low or fixed income (senior) person's pet spayed or neutered or help them to find a low cost spay and neuter program!

VOLUNTEER!

Ways to help Teresa with Conrad Strays! Teresa is so behind in most aspects of Conrad Strays.  Teresa, founder of Conrad Strays believes everyone has their own special gifts, talents and qualifications.  That's why Teresa  is asking for help.  She can't do everything.  Teresa's talents are: caring, loving, nursing and nurturing cats, computer work, writing general things, building small things, some advertising.  She is not an outgoing people person go getter type :-)  She is not a phone person :-)  She is a caretaker, behind the scenes and  motivated type.  That's why we need outgoing, persistent people to talk to the public, get businesses to help/donate, come up with marketing ideas ect.

Many of these things can be done in your own home at your convenience. Others are service and equipment we need! Please share your gift and talents to help us continue to save cats, make a difference and end pet overpopulation!
