Needlework classes at Cross Stitch Plus provide a fun way to learn a new skill while getting together with  other cross-stitch enthusiasts. Class sizes are limited so sign up early. All classes are taught in the evening at the store. Some knowledge of counted cross stitch is expected for all classes. In some cases, experience with linen-weave fabric is also recommended.

Unless otherwise noted, classes are limited to adult stitchers.

We must receive your payment at the time of registration to hold your space. If you have to cancel, your payment will be refunded as long as you notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Please do not ask us to move you to another class nor refund your payment unless we have 48 hours notification that you can not attend a class.

Cross Stitch Tips & Tricks -- $15.00 (includes materials)
   Tuesday, Feb 19  (6:30 - 9:15)
   Tuesday, April 22   (6:30 - 9:15)
   Tuesday, May 20   (6:30 - 9:15)

This is a discussion class with some "hands on". Learn about different fabrics (including linens) and fibers. Practice stitching on linen with metallics and beads. We'll talk about how to determine your fabric size, where to start your stitching, how to keep a neater back, and how to wash your completed project. We'll also discuss some of the "gadgets" available to make your stitching easier. If you'd like, bring a piece that you are working on for "show & tell".

Introduction to Hardanger -- $15.00 (includes materials)
   Tuesday, March 18  (6:30 - 9:00)

You'll find that Hardanger is not as "hard" as you might think. We will stitch a little heart to teach you things like kloster blocks, cutting, woven bars, and dove's eyes. We will be using 25-count fabric. Experience stitching on linen-weave fabrics is required.

Make-it / Take-it Sundays
  Mar 2, Apr 6, May 4  ("open house" 1:00 - 4:00)
No charge / No registration necessary

On the first Sundays of March, April and May we will introduce our "Make-it / Take-it Sundays". On these days we will demonstrate techniques that may be new to you. This will not be a 3-hour class. Just come spend 5-minutes (or longer) with us, and we will introduce you to the technique of the day.
March 2 -- Stitching on Linen
April 6 -- Silk Ribbon Embroidery
May 4 -- Some simple specialty stitches
... and don't forget the "Of the Month" Project
   Second Tuesday each month (6:30 - 9:00)
Cost is for the materials only -- No additional charge

During 2008 we will work on one project -- the "My Stitching Treasures" sampler from Jeanette Douglas. See our Monthly Project page for more information.

"Jump in" any time.
