Jennifer's Big Adventure

”Hi, I'm 23 years old and have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I'm coming here to better my education, and get a good job so I could support my daughter better.

I lived in California since I was 15 years old and been on my own since. I met my daughter's father at age 18 and we were together on and off for 5 years, he was always in and out of jail between those times. I got preganet at age 19, 2 months later I turned 20.

When I was 3 months preganet, I found out he was having another baby with somebody else. Our babies were 6 months apart, she had a boy and I had a girl. When I found out, I moved to Texas. I had my daughter here in San Antonio. Since then, I've been moving back and forth from here to California. I finally gave up on him this year, so he came down here in March and stayed for a week. The whole week he was talking to me about letting my daughter on going back with him. I finally said yes because he was her father so he had much right with her as I did. We made a agreement, that he called every day to let me know how she was doing, and to buy her clothes. He did nether. I was calling to his family's house to check on her and they told me he just left her and hadn't been back for a couple of days. I was very upset because he hadn't called me and he wasn't taking care of my daughter. I knew she was very scared and probably thought I abounded her. She wasn't close to his family because she hardly knew them. At that time I didn't have any money to fly down their to get her so I had to wait. It was going on a month, still I haven't heard for him. I saved every little money to go and get her. My mother and I drove their to go and get her. It took us 24 hours to drive from San Antonio to San Francisco. We were on a journey. It felt like forever to get their. When we finally reached California and we seen lots of different things. Some parts use windmills for electricity. When we drove through Los Angeles, we seen that place were they shot that move Mi Veda Loca, Echo Park. The weather was really nice, It's not hot like it is here in Texas. We finally reached San Francisco and I didn't call the family when I got their because I didn't want him to take her and leave with her because then I would never find her. I arrived at the house, went inside got her and her things, what ever I could find and left. I found out he was planning on keeping her. Well he hasn't called since then to check up on his daughter or sent any money at all, but that ok. because we don't need any more disappointment in our lives, and I can do it on my own.
