NOTE FROM BILL B. LOFTIN

Johnny was born in Texas, he was very proud of this, he somehow made his way to the Kernville, California area, where he worked as a cowboy and appeared as an extra in early western movies. His enlistment papers show occupation as Cow Puncher.

He served in World War II as a tanker in General Patton's tank corp. He was in the invasion of Europe from the beach landing to Germany.

He had several jobs in his lifetime, supporting his son and two stepdaughters.

His last job resulted in his death. While driving an oilfield tanker truck, he pulled in front of a train he never saw. He and several people on the train were killed and many were injured.

Johnny will always be remembered, by his family, as kind and loving to his wife, stepdaughters, their husbands, grandchildren and his only son.
