The first Castleberry in America was Heinrich Kasselberg who was a Mennonite from Backersdorf, County of Bruggen, Germany. Bruggen is near Drefeld in the low country of the Rhine. Heinrich was one of the first settlers of Germantown, today part of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dying there in 1729. Heinrich later took the name of Henry Castleberry.

There are others on the web that publish information back to Heinrich, from which my Castleberry line has been traced. I started with Jacob, to pick up where they left off.
