Toyota MR2 Owners Club

Hi! I'm Lj Dupree, the proud owner of a 1986 Toyota MR2. After wishing I knew other owners in the area who knew these great cars, I started the DC International MR2 Owners Club (DC IMOC) as a hobby. This site was my way of helping other owners of the Toyota MR2 in Washington, DC and surrounding areas to keep in touch with each other.

The DC IMOC formed in Nov, '97 after the First Annual DC Beltway Blast, (which came about while I was home alone one night and got a wild hair! <grin>) This was NOT an "official" car club. At the height of our membership, almost 200 individuals were sharing area MR2-related information throughout DC, MD, PA & VA.

I will continue to collect and keep email addresses to forward information for a while yet; however, I am almost ready to join the ranks of several other regional website owners who are no longer active online. Unfortunately, real life has a way of interfering with the fun stuff! Emails have slowed to a trickle, and very few MR2 events are occurring in the immediate area.

Those of you who wish to have your email addresses shared with anyone who expresses an interest in starting their own area IMOC, please let me know and I will pass that information along.

Thank you all for a wonderful experience. I am very proud of the fact that I was able to contribute to the MR2 community by establishing the first MR2 club in the DC area, and am grateful to the wonderful friends I have made in DC IMOC. I will continue to maintain my passion for my red '86, and wish you all many happy trails in your MR2s.
