We're not a punk band...we're not a glam band...we're not a hair band...I don't think we're a funk band...we haven't gone goth yet...we're just DGeneration...be good
- Jesse's intro to the last song of the last show - 4/24/99

DGeneration was a band that exploded out of New York City in1991, quickly gaining a reputation for their blistering live shows. The band played their first show at the Greendoor space in NYC on December 7, 1991 and returned home for a final curtain call at Coney Island High in on April 24, 1999. During their 8 year run, they released 3 major-label albums on EMI/Chrysallis (“DGeneration) and Sony/C2 Records (“No Lunch”, “Through the Darkness”) as well as several EPs and contributed to a number of compilation and soundtrack albums. All of the former members are still active in various projects:

Singer Jesse Malin has released three solo albums to date and has a covers disc coming out in March 2008.  Guitarist Richard Bacchus and his new band, Richard Bacchus and the Luckiest Girls, released their first album in late 2007.  Bassist Howie Pyro and guitarist Todd Youth have both relocated to L.A.  Howie currently hosts the Intoxica radio show and Todd is now playing with The Chelsea Smiles. Guitarist Danny Sage is working on a solo project, while drummer Michael Wildwood is most recently drummed for Monster Magnet and The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black.  Joe Rizzo is busy with his project, Curtis Suburban, as well as with The Waldos.  For more info on the band's history, as well as current projects, check out the biography page.

This page was active during the band's tenure and, since their breakup, remains as an archive of DGen's legacy. Brief updates will be posted, when events warrant, with any significant news about the band and its former members. Check the other sections of the site devoted to the various, ongoing projects by former band members, as well as links to their current projects, for the latest news and updates.

Site Update: March 1, 2008: Yes, it has been quite some time since this site was actively updated (but we have at least been checking our e-mails again over the past several months). Over the past few years, some of the servers which hosted part of this site's content have become inactive, resulting in some dead links and missing pages. Over the course of the next few months, we here at Vampire Nation will be working to overhaul the site to restore those pages.  In addition, please note that the various sections of the Vampire Nation site do not provide the latest, up-to-the-minute news on the current projects of various band members and, instead, serve as an archive of those endeavors.  For the latest information, click on the links provided to the various web sites / MySpace pages of the boys from the band.

As a special treat to all of you DGenerates and DGenerettes who still stop by from time to time, and have supported us through the years, here is an unreleased DGen tune called Blood Money, recorded for Through The Darkness but not included on the final album.
